How do i know the right product to sell

Hello every one

I’m new here, pls can someone direct me on the right product to sell and how to go about it

Thank you.

Hi, @Deborah212399 !

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and sharing your concern. I’m happy to point you in the right direction.

It’s great to hear that you’re looking to start your own business. I can always suggest our comprehensive guide on How To Find a Product To Sell Online that covers a variety of strategies to find a product line. For instance, you will need to do a lot of research on market trends through keywords and customer reviews on existing products. You can also focus on solving a customer pain point. You can spot these points by noticing common frustrations with an existing line of products.

Once you have an idea of what you would like to sell, you will want to test out your brand and interest. You can do this by building a landing page to promote your potential product with a way for interested customers to leave their email. You can run a few paid ads to drive traffic to you store and test the market.

We also have a few additional resources like 17 Trending Products and Things To Sell Online, and How to find an Online Store Name that I suggest checking out.

Feel free to reply back to this thread with any questions or updates and we can continue our conversation further!

Hi @Deborah212399

This is Kate from PageFly - Landing page builder, I’d like to suggest this idea:

To determine the right product to sell on Shopify, you should consider the following factors:

  1. Niche: Choose a niche that you are passionate about and has a good demand in the market.

  2. Market research: Use tools like Google Trends, Amazon Best Sellers, and other market research tools to find popular products in your niche.

  3. Competitor analysis: Check what your competitors are selling, what’s working for them, and what’s not.

  4. Supply chain: Make sure that you can secure a steady and affordable supply of the product you plan to sell.

  5. Profitability: Ensure that you can make a profit after taking into account all your costs, including product cost, shipping, and advertising.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your store!

Hallo Kate,

Thank you for responding so quickly, I really appreciate it.
Another question I want to ask if you do not mind is how do I register for
the online shop to start placing orders or getting pictures of the items to
post on my social media platform so my customer will see and place order.
Your swift response will be very much appreciated

Thank you.

Hi @Deborah212399

To start selling products on Shopify, you can follow these steps:

  1. Sign up for a Shopify account: Go to Shopify.com and create an account by providing your email address and creating a password.

  2. Choose a plan: Select the Shopify plan that fits your business needs and budget. You can choose from the Basic Shopify, Shopify, and Advanced Shopify plans.

  3. Set up your store: Customize your store by adding your product information, choosing a design theme, and setting up payment and shipping options.

  4. Add your products: To add your products, you’ll need to create product listings, including product name, description, photos, and pricing information.

  5. Get product images: To get product images, you can either take photos yourself, hire a photographer, or use stock photos from a site like Shutterstock.

  6. Start selling: Once your store is set up and your products are listed, you can start promoting your store and selling to customers.

  7. Register for an online shop: Depending on your business location, you may need to register your business and obtain necessary licenses and permits. You can check with your local government for specific requirements.

I hope this information helps you get started with setting up an online shop on Shopify. Good luck!

Hi again, @Deborah212399 !

Thanks for following up.

Starting a store is very intuitive and easy to manage once you get the hang of things. Feel free to check out our Shopify Blog on How to Start an Online Store with Shopify for a step by step guide on how to build your store and start selling your services to your customers.

Once you find the product that you would like to sell, you will need to determine how you would like to source and manufacture it. For instance, you can have a dropshipper fulfill orders for you, you fulfill your own orders, or you work with a logistics company that will handle your warehousing and fulfillment. To learn more, we have a great guide called Ecommerce Fulfillment Services: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know that goes in detail about the benefits of each option.

In regards to your product photos, most dropshipping companies already have photos that you can use, however, it’s a great idea to order the product and create your own unique photos.

Let me know more information about which fulfillment method you’re looking to implement and we can discuss this further!
