I make one of a kind pendants but I would like to offer multiple chain lengths for that one pendant. My concern is do I put quantity of one for each variant and when one sales will the rest show on my page with that same pendant? The pendant will be sold and don’t want those extra variants hanging out in my inventory.
You can either sell the pendant with multiple length as options so each product becomes SKU so you need too set the inventory and use an app to sync the stock out based on any one of variant sold.
The easier option will be to have 2 separate product and sell them as bundle so the inventory will always be write, you would need to customise the product page in such ways that when buyer selects pendant and chain, 2 products are added in cart so the inventory will always be right.
If you are actually creating a chain from a long chain and not too worried about the discrete inventory, you may actually just take the length as line item properties
