How do I view and edit the H1 tag on my homepage?

Hi everyone, I’ve just run an On-Page SEO report on SEMRush and it’s saying my homepage (www.allaboutarnold.com) needs an H1 tag incorporating my target keywords. How do I view what the H1 currently is and edit it, please? To confirm,

  • I’m using Shopify Dawn theme

  • I’ve added a page title for the home page (under Preferences) and understood this would be used as the H1 tag but maybe I’ve got that wrong

  • I’m not a dev so keeping it simple is very much appreciated!

  • I contacted Shopify Chat who said the store was already optimised for SEO and a missing H1 tag doesn’t matter. I’m not an SEO expert but that’s definitely at odds with my understanding hence asking on this forum - I’m super happy to be corrected/updated and improve my learning

i can see H1 now your Logo if you have change add other section but make user H1 use each page 1 time

Hi there, thanks for the reply. Just to make sure I understand, are you saying I need to add a new section onto the Home page and add an H1 header into that? If so, what kind of section? Just had a quick look through and can’t see any that have an option to add an H1. Many thanks

yes, current change header h1 to h2 and set h1 home only one section

We found this same issue when our site got a warning from an ahrefs SEO audit that the H1 was empty on the homepage.

I wrote a blog post about this with instruction on how to remove the h1 from the company logo, and a couple ways to add the h1 back to the homepage.

Hello! I have been trying to improve my SEO with Hike. Every page that isn’t doing well is missing the H1 tag on my home page, landing pages, and product detail pages. I’m on Shopify and can’t seem to figure out where to edit this. I’ve been on support and have yet to get answers, other than hire a SEO expert. I’m with Hike to learn myself. Any advice or knowledge shared would be greatly appreciated!
