Hey Daria,

  1. Ask him to audit your site and see if he is only covering basic or in-depth issues.

  2. I will see if he worked in a similar niche before and understand my niche

  3. I want him to report before making significant changes to my store

  4. He may give me a monthly report on SEO benefiting my Business.

  1. Check the individual’s years of experience
  2. Check the client referrals of the individual
  3. Ask questions related to the industry in which your business is operating to check the individual’s knowledge about the industry and suitability to work for your business.
  4. Also, check the proven track record of the individual’s success in SEO
  5. Ask the individual to carry out an in-depth SEO audit of the website to check his/her/their SEO knowledge and competency
  6. You can also check how well the individual presents insightful information in the form of reports

I hope all these points can help you hire a competent SEO expert.

Well, you cannot see the outcomes of SEO efforts immediately, so you shall wait for at least 3 months to check the return on marketing investment (ROMI) of hiring the SEO expert. Based on ROMI, you can decide whether to continue with that SEO expert or hire someone else.
