How does shipping work with different markets on Shopify?

Hello!

Wondering how shipping works with Shopify Markets.

If I plan to ship from a warehouse in that specific country that I’m selling at, do I need any special license?

How do I handle duty taxes? Will the money paid out be in dollars?

Just don’t know how it works and feeling a little lost.

Any help and direction is greatly appreciated.

Hi @ponbru ,

Shopify Markets can help you select the countries where you intend to sell your products. Additionally, Shopify Fulfillment can assist you in configuring multiple warehouses.

However, your primary question pertains to licensing, which is something you will need to address.

For instance, if you plan to export to international locations, you will require an export license and a shipping carrier account that supports international shipments. You can explore options with FedEx, UPS, and DHL – they are the leading international shipping providers. They can also guide you through the process of dealing with duty taxes.

Another alternative is to establish a warehouse in the country where you are selling, although this option is more complex. You may need to consult the relevant authorities in the respective country to understand the process of setting up a business there.

Considering your situation, it might also be beneficial to explore dropshipping options in the respective countries.

To sum it up, it’s essential to first determine your business operating model.
