Hi, @martini .
Thanks for posting to the forums, I hope your day is going well!
That is an extremely frustrating situation to find yourself in. Unfortunately, a theme being considered “good” is extremely subjective to the user. While some might find Booster good, others might not. This is why Shopify offers unlimited trials on all paid themes. This way, you can build the theme out and decide if its right for you without committing to a purchase.
When it comes to refunds, as you have technically purchased a digital license that is difficult to revoke, it is generally not accepted. That being said, I encourage you to request a refund from the theme developers directly. They might be able to offer a solution.
Additionally, if you are ever having any trouble with your theme, please reach out to our live advisors. While we aren’t experts on third party themes, we are generally quite skilled with maneuvering the theme editor’s settings. We are always happy to walk you through the theme to achieve what you’re looking for!
When it comes to your domain, once you connect your domain to Shopify you will need to then set it as the primary domain. That being said, your store will still populate under the .myshopify.com as well, and your admin will also display under the .myshopify.com URL.
To connect your domain to your Shopify store, you will first need a bit of information:
- your login information for your third-party domain provider account
- Domain.com’s provider requirements
- the Shopify IP address
23.227.38.65
- the
www CNAME record shops.myshopify.com
When you are ready to connect your domain, login to Domain.com and complete the following steps:
- Find the DNS settings or domain management area.
- Change the following records:
- Point the A record to the Shopify IP address
23.227.38.65.
- If necessary, change the Host name to the
@ symbol.
- Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
- Point the CNAME record with the name www to
shops.myshopify.com.
Once the above steps are complete you are ready to attach the domain to your Shopify Admin.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
- Click Connect existing domain.
- Enter your domain, such as
mydomain.com, and then click Next.
- To confirm that your domain is connected to your Shopify store, click Verify connection.
Thats it! As it sounds like you are new to Shopify, I would also suggest using our Launch Checklist to make sure you have completed all the necessary steps before you launch to the public. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know!
