I have enabled the option for customers to add recipient information when purchasing a gift card on my site, and most have had no problem using it. Today, however, a customer purchased a gift card and then contacted us because he couldn’t figure out how to add the recipient information. He also intended to include a personalized note.
I tried editing the recipient information in the admin, but there doesn’t seem to be an option. I also considered deactivating the existing gift card and issuing a new one with the correct information, but I can’t add the recipient and note in the admin that way either. In the end, I had to give the customer the choice between forwarding the email he received (with no note) and returning the card he already bought and purchasing a new one.
Is there a way to do this that I missed? If not, when does Shopify intend to solve this basic functionality problem?
