How to add left and right arrows to product image thumbnails?

Hi all, I saw previous posts on doing this but the code that was shared did not work for me. I have the Boom theme and would like to add arrows to the preview thumbnail images that are under the main large image on product pages.

Could you please share your store link. Generally it would require code change at liquid level to add arrow and slider functionality, are you comfortable doing liquid code changes?
