How to automate custom certificates for donations

Hi everyone,

I’m volunteering for a charity that uses Shopify to manage donations. The funds are invested in global tree-planting projects, and after donating, our supporters receive a custom certificate with their name, donation amount, and date.

Currently, this is handled through a WordPress back-end, which makes the checkout process very slow. Does anyone know how to automate the creation and emailing of custom certificates directly within Shopify?

Note: We’re a charity with a very limited budget, so low-cost solutions would be ideal.

An idea, you could search for apps that handle digital downloads and reach out to them with your use case.

I would bet they have other people doing something similar. I don’t have an exact to recommend but search in the app store for “digital downloads” and reach out to a couple to see if you’re on the right track.

I’ll look for apps that supply digital downloads.

I also just thought of using an app for sending pdf invoices, but changing the look so they look like certificates. Will let you know what works best :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Paulala, did you find a solution? (I’ve also just looked at maybe using custom invoices, but at first glance the customisation is somewhat limited)

Some of the digital download apps have a feature called PDF stamping, but again I found that they were limited, and I couldn’t add custom data. (each certificate would have a unique ID and QR code)
