We have acquired a shopify storefront by buying a business. We are trying to change all the identifying information on the site to ours. I have figured out how to change the social links. What we can’t seem to find is how to change the copyright and the banner at the footer in the homepage to our website. It is currently the previous owner’s website, which is still operational as we only acquired a division of their company. Since Shopify doesn’t have an 1800 number I can call, I’m hoping someone here will be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks!

If you can share your url of this site I can have a look and see.
They could have codes this into the website directly and not made it a setting in your theme which could make it hard to change as you will have to edit the code directly.

If you could share the store URL with me here, I’d be happy to take a look and see where there is still the old business’s information.
Once place I would recommend looking is the theme languages, which you can access on your theme page in your admin by clicking More actions > Edit languages, as you can see on my test store here:
On this page you can search for the previous business’s name and remove/change it from all the places it currently appears in your theme:
