How do i add categories for my products on for show. When you press products I would like to see a product categories

In Shopify you will find that categories are called Collections. In order to populate products in the different collections, you first need to create them within the admin by going to Products > Collections > Create collection. Here, you will have the option to create either a Manual or an Automated collection. The type that you create depends on what you find more comfortable, so here is a breakdown:

An automated collection uses selection conditions to automatically include matching products. You can add up to 60 selection conditions and also specify whether products need to meet all of the conditions or any of the conditions to be included in the collection. When you add a new product that matches the selection conditions for a collection, the product is automatically added to the collection i.e. if you add a condition based on product tag to the collection - when you go to create your product you can add the tag in the beginning so that the product appears in that collection straight away, If you are looking to add tags to existing products to fit conditions for a collection, see how this can be done in this guide here.

A manual collection includes only the products that you choose individually. Because of this, the collection always contains the same products unless you specifically add or remove products. This can result in being more work to maintain in the end because you have to manually add products there every time, but could work if you have some small/special category of products that you prefer to add manually here.

Once you have created the type of collection that you want, and populated it with products, its time to add it to the Navigation of your store where customers will be able to find it. In order for your collections to appear in the menu, you must go to Online store > Navigation > Main menu in your Shopify admin. From here, you can click Add menu item, which will open another menu where you can name it and link it to the collection:

You can also feature your collections on your Home page by adding a section within the theme editor such as Featured collection - this is a great way to bring attention to a category that you want to highlight for the potential customers that come across your store.
