How to enable filtering on collections with more than a 1000 products?

I get it that shopify has restricted filtering on collection pages with more than 1000 products in it because it will affect performance, but I think this should be a choice. I don’t care about the performance if there is a few seconds lag in the results.

Any help as to how to bypass this functionality will be greatly appreciated.

Hi @MJ9094 ,

With Filter 2.0, this is not possible, if you want you need to change Filter 1.0, it is Filter with tags product.

Or you can use the app, it will be much simpler: https://apps.shopify.com/ultimate-search-and-filter-1

I have 1300 products and it is crucial to have a filter visible on my page. Has this been already resolved? I want to switch to 2.0 and I cannot because I would loose all my sales. Is this already resolved? I do not want any apps!!

I have the same issue with my store… I don’t understand why they limit the collections to 1000 products…. I have contacted Shopify Support and they will send my request to the Shopify developers. I will have to go back with an app I used in my previous theme (Product Filter & Search).

Same here, the sidebar disappear if there are more than products on the collection is really annoying, i’ve tried to do a limit in the liquid code but still no luck
