i dont see how to enter the correct weight and size of each of my catalog items so ship cost is accurate at checkout for my buyers but also for my shipping labels. please advise it keeps defaulting to the same box for everything. Thx!
Thank you very much. However I can’t get past the first item. I am able to add weight but there is no option for dimensions under shipping or anywhere on the shipping part of the product page.

Hi,
Unfortunately in Shopify, you can only setup one box natively. If you want to setup different sized boxes for different products, you need to use a third party shipping rate application like ShipMagic.
As others have said this is a limitation in Shopify. If you’d like to try another solution, Starshipit could fit your needs. You can save your packaging setups in the app and then set up rules to assign certain SKUs to certain packages.
I’m sorry I have no help to offer. I am also terribly frustrated that we can’t simply assign a box size per item, the same way we assign a weight.
It’s okay if we can’t dynamically calculate box sizes for multiple items together. But at least assigning a box size per item should be basic functionality.
Using a third party app is not acceptable. Not just becuse of the subscription cost, but because those apps do not use shopify’s discounted rates. This can make a difference of hundreds of dollars per item for bulky international orders.
