How to fix error code 429 in a new shipping app?

I’ve just added a new shipping app to my store to help me manage my shipping rates. However, when I try to view the shipping rates for a particular product, I notice that the rates are not being calculated correctly. I also notice that there’s an error message at the top of the app’s page that reads “Error code 429: Too Many Requests”. What should I do?

Hello @majoh093 ,

I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

The error message “Error code 429: Too Many Requests” typically indicates that you are exceeding the app’s rate limits. This can happen if the app is making too many requests to Shopify’s API, or if your store is generating too much traffic.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following.

  1. Contact the app developer
You should contact the developer of the shipping app to report the issue and ask for assistance. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the problem and identify any issues with the app’s configuration.

  2. Check your store’s traffic
If you are generating too much traffic to your store, this can also cause the error message. Check your website traffic and see if there are any unusual spikes in traffic. You may want to consider upgrading your hosting plan or optimizing your website to handle the traffic.

  3. Check your app’s rate limits
Check the app’s documentation or contact the developer to see if there are any rate limits or usage limits associated with the app. Make sure you are not exceeding these limits.

  4. Wait and try again later
If the issue is caused by a temporary spike in traffic, you may want to wait and try again later. The error message may go away on its own.

Overall, it’s important to work closely with the app developer to troubleshoot the issue and find a solution.

Gina
