First time posting here as I’m new to Shopify!
I’m using the Debut theme, and I’m running in to a peculiar issue when I sort a collection by tags. My “Oil Paint” collection includes products where the product type is equal to “Oil Paint” or a tag is equal to “Oil Paint.” When I view the collection at this URL ‘*/collections/oil-paint’ I see all of my products tagged with “Oil Paint” and I can use the filter to see just “Oil Paint” product types, or “Painting Mediums” product types, some of which are tagged with “Oil Paint.”
When I filter this collection by using a URL filter like this */collections/oil-paint/Grumbacher-Academy-Oil (I’ve created a menu link pointing to this collection / filter) the filter that is displayed to the user still lets them refine the view by selecting just “Painting Mediums,” but really there are no “Painting Mediums” product types tagged with “Grumbacher-Academy-Oil” so it seems like the page filter at this level is not working as expected. It indicates 3 products should exist here, but when I click it nothing happens, as no “Painting Mediums” product types are tagged with Grumbacher Academy Oil.
Is there a better way to set this up, or is there something funky in the theme? I like the URL pattern and organizational structure for collection/parent_collection/filter, and I like the idea that users can sort by product types when they exist.
