How to fix invisible nested categories in drop down menus?

Hello all,

I have a few questions regarding drop-down menus.

  1. Whenever I nest categories, no matter what, it does not appear when published. I have not changed any code and am doing it through “navigation”

  2. I want to have a menu link “Brands” so when a user hovers/clicks on it, it shows all the different brands we sell sorted alphabetically, similar to what you would see on a site like macys.com or nordstrom.com and select brands or designers, and when you click on the brand name, it takes you to all respective products of that brand.

Any info. would greatly help.

Setting up drop-down menus

When it comes to setting up the drop-down menu, have you been going to your Shopify admin > Online Store > Navigation > Main menu > Add new menu item?

We have this Youtube video that goes through how to set up a drop-down menu. Can you confirm these are the steps you’re taking?

After you complete the above steps, can you also confirm you’re clicking the “save” button?

Creating collections

You can definitely achieve having drop-down menu items for different brands.

You’ll need to:

  1. Create a collection for each brand. You can do this by creating an automated collection or a manual collection for each brand.

  2. Add each collection to your main menu and arrange them in the order you’d like. You can follow the steps in the creating drop-down menu video I linked above for this step.
