How to fully remove a cloned ecommerce store after a hacker attack?

Hello,

I have an ecommerce shopify store. I created it several years ago. I found my store in another domain. Someone bought a domain a few weeks ago and 100% cloned my store. He also synced my store with his store. When I add product to my original store then it is automatically add to the fake store. And same for the delete. I submited a DMCA copyright infringement notice here : https://www.shopify.ca/legal/dmca and they removed most of it but not all. There is still copyrighted material left and the fake store is still sync to mine. How can I have everything removed?

Just gotta keep hitting them with the DMCA really. It’s the best legal avenue to take content off the internet. There’s unfortunately no way to prevent it, no more than you can simply prevent someone from making false claims about anything.

Hi @EduardoSt

Thank you for reaching out to get some additional help with this. @casey-customs is correct that the DMCA notice is the best option to continue having their products removed. Another option that is always worth a try is to submit a report to the actual domain URL host. You can search that up and find the “abuse” contact email for the domain host using https://who.is.

my store gets plenty of traffic I think my store has been hacked I can’t seem to keep a customer more than 20 seconds I believe they are rerouting customer’s to a store they cloned off me I’ve had over 500 hundred visits in my first two months not one sale and nobody spends more than 20 seconds in my store just long enough to click shop all buttons

They connect a link to the clone store to my shop all buttons

Plus I have not finished my theme management because I’m not allowed access to theme management and I own the store

Hi @RichyRichYandle

I can definitely understand your concerns here! Have you been able to replicate any sort of button forwarding on your store to this cloned website?

If you are signed into your store as the account owner then you should definitely have access to the entire admin. If you do not, you will want to confirm you are signed in with the correct email address. You can check if you have multiple accounts in your admin under Settings > Users and Permissions.

If you need any assistance in confirming what account you have signed in right now or help with securing your account and confirming that your store navigation is pointing to the correct pages please reach out to our live support for help. To access our live support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center. Next, you will want to follow the on screen prompts to sign in, choose your topic and issue and at the bottom of the help articles provided will be all available live support options.
