Dear community,
With a couple of days before going live with my website I had an unpleasant surprise when testing check out and payments.
The context is: our shop is based in Romania and we want to sell worldwide. We installed an app that would do the x-chage rate conversion of the prices in different currencies: RON, USD, GBP etc to be closer to customers.
Turns out the customer can see the price in RON for instance, but at the last step of check out the price appears in EUR. This is because the shop currency is EUR and Shopify payments is not active for Romania. Is it basically active only for 19 countries (see here which ones )
This means: the customer will not pay the RON amount which he/she agrees on my website but the equivalent of EUR at the x-change rate of the bank (plus possible additional fees). This to me is severe problem because:
-
I cannot guarantee prices in other currencies than EUR
-
Customer is not informed that the cash out from bank might be different than what he/she agreed on the website
-
I cannot come close to my clients in other countries except EUR ones, because prices are in EUR
Please tell me if you faced this issue and what did you do?
@Shopify_77 please give us a solution here as we are supposed to sell worldwide!
Thanks,
Cristiana
