How to include customer names in automated emails?

How do I add customer names to a custom template or the automated ones we set up to auto send?

Hi @LaCollection welcome to the shoipfy community

Please refer to the steps below for adding customer name to the customer email,

  • Shopify admin, go to Settings > Notifications.

  • Locate the automated email notification you want to modify

  • email template editor, locate the tag, which represents the email’s title.

  • Modify with New order placed by {{ customer.first_name }} {{ customer.last_name }}

  • Hit Save.

i have created a welcome email series, collecting first name data using forms. i use the code {{ customer.first_name }} it the subject and in the body of the email, but it doesnt replace the tag with the name. any way around this? it should be the most straight forward of them all.
