How to input custom fonts into the Impulse theme?

Topic summary

A user seeks help adding custom fonts to the Impulse Shopify theme, having found only tutorials for the Dawn theme.

Another participant shares the official Archetype Themes guide for custom fonts in Impulse. The original poster reports following the guide unsuccessfully—their site reverted to a basic font instead of displaying the desired custom typeface.

After reviewing the store URL, the helper identifies a likely missed step in the implementation process and shares a screenshot highlighting the specific instruction (referencing “MyFont” placeholder text). The original poster expresses confusion about whether to use the literal text “MyFont” or substitute their actual font name.

The helper offers to provide direct assistance via private message to troubleshoot the issue. A third user later joins the thread requesting the same guidance for implementing custom fonts in Impulse.

Status: The main issue remains unresolved publicly, with troubleshooting moving to private messages.

Does anyone know of a good video to show how to input custom fonts into the Impulse theme? All the youtube videos I have found are with Dawn. I have a custom theme and am not a coder by any means.

Since you’re using Impulse, it has alot of guides that comes with it. This is their guide for custom fonts: How do I add custom fonts? (archetypethemes.co)

I tried following that and my font didn’t change at all. I am not code-smart so I have no idea what I screwed up.

Is it possible for you to send your store so that I can look at it? Like you mentioned, this is not your field of expertise so yeah you might have screwed up somewhere.

The font previous to this was more wispy looking. After I followed those instructions everything changes to the basic font that its showing now.

I think you missed a step. This one specifically:

I would LOVE that. Any help would be appreciated.

Alright, I’ll message you so that I can help you with the fix.

Ok so, again I’m not a person who codes. Do I type in “MyFont” there or do I type in something else?

I sent you a message request. You should see it in your inbox. Sorry for the reply edit earlier.

Hi, Paul.

I’m having the same issue as described here. Could you explain what I have to do with this code in order to use my custom font files?

Thanks.
