How to link my LLC with an online store?

Do I need to somehow link my LLC to Shopify? Or how does that work?

Hi, @CarsonTowt .

Thank you for reaching out!

It is a good idea that you link your LLC (Limited Liability Company) to Shopify for tax and legal purposes. Shopify requires all merchants to provide their business details and tax identification numbers to comply with tax laws and regulations.

To link your LLC to Shopify, you must first set up a Shopify account providing your business details, including your LLC’s legal name, address, and tax identification number. Additionally, Shopify may ask you to provide some legal documents to verify your business, such as your LLC registration certificate, tax filings, and bank statements.

Once Shopify verifies your business, it will automatically generate invoices and email them to you for the subscription, transaction, and other fees charged by Shopify. You can also access various tax-related reports, such as 1099-K, along with other analytics and sales reports, which will help you keep track of your business expenses and income.

Linking your LLC to Shopify is essential to comply with local tax laws and regulations and also to ensure that your business operates legally and under the correct entity. It is recommended that you consult with a legal professional for guidance, especially if you are unsure about the requirements for your particular LLC.
