I have a number of products, that have a number of variations.
I just want to be able to make it obvious from the collection page, via a swatch or other means, that there are options to choose when you get into the listing?

yes, like on the catalogue page - it would have a swatch.
Yes. It can be possible on collection page also on the product page with some custom code.
