How to make line item properties appear in cart?

I have recently updated to Dawn 15.2 and my custom items with line item properties have all been deleted. I have tried following the original tutorials to add them back and realised that the entire code set up for Dawn has changed.

After following several tutorials, I noted that I can use the custom liquid feature to add the line items. It shows up well on the site, and you are able to add information to it, however it is not showing up in the cart and does not show up when an order is placed.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

This is the code I currently have in the custom liquid:

Name Number

It’s for football t-shirts and users can enter their name and number
