I recently created a dropshipping store that has over ten different suppliers and they all have different shipping rates and customizations. Some of the suppliers have the shipping rates set to cost per additional item. If a customer buys more than one product from the same supplier from my store I make little to no money because I end up paying for shipping. Shopify doesn’t have cost per additional item in their custom shipping profiles. Does anybody know of any shipping apps for DROPSHIPPING that can resolve this issue or know of any other method to help me.
If the suppliers are set to different locations in your store, then you can make it charge shipping for each location. For example if a customer orders 2 products from 2 different vendors and they’re set to different locations, then it will charge 2x the whatever the shipping cost is.
If it’s not set like this for you now, just reach out to Shopify support, they can enable it (I did this before).
My issue is when a customer buys 2 products from the same supplier it doesn’t add the additional shipping charge for the additional item
@Atlantis420 I think a good start point would be charging by weight then, and then configure each product’s weight accordingly (it doesn’t have to be the real weight, just using that as a system to charge).
If you do that, for the suppliers that charge per item you’ll make sure you don’t lose money, and the suppliers that don’t charge for every item you could balance it with a lower weight, so that if they order multiple of those items they aren’t paying shipping on each one.
