I started on Etsy and am now trying to set up my Shopify store. Luckily, there are only 50 products in the Etsy store so far. I plan to import the products from Etsy in CSV. Then I plan to use the Shopify Marketplace Connect app so that the products created on Shopify will also be available on Etsy (if I understand correctly).
What I am confused about is that the Etsy “category” and “tag” fields are not the same as the Shopify “category” and “tag” fields and Shopify also has the “product type” on Etsy and the “shop section”.
So if I have to rearrange it manually in the CSV, how will it transfer to Etsy when creating new products. Do I have to make etsy_tag metafield for example?
Not to mention that I would also like to sync it to Ebay and Amazon.
Is there a detailed guide on how to match fields on these marketplaces? Which Shopify field do the fields in the example below correspond to?
Etsy Category: Craft Supplies & Tools > Raw Materials > Wood > Tree Slices (I couldn’t find this on Shopify)
Etsy Craft type: Woodworking & carpentry
Etsy Shop Section: Walnut
Etsy Tags: tree cookie, live edge wood, wood slab, live edge slab, epoxy table
