I had an existing non-Shopify website where I was not selling anything. I have connected a “checkout” subdomain to Shopify and I use that for the checkout.
I only have a single product, so I have a customized product page built with my existing stack with a cart permalink for when the user wants to go to checkout. I’ve also set up Google’s Merchant Listing structured data on my product page ( How To Add Merchant Listing Structured Data | Google Search Central | Documentation | Google for Developers ).
I have not started running any ads but I do not know how could I set up conversion tracking, which happens across two subdomain (www and checkout). One which is under my full control and one which is handled by Shopify?
What’s the best practice in this case? Or do I maybe ignore if the user actually completes the purchase and just track the click on the button that directs the user to checkout?
For reference, this is my product page: Smart Hand Grip Dynamometer DEXDIA GX - Dexterity Diagnostics (Clicking on “Order you DEXDIA GX” redirects you to the “checkout” subdomain which is connected to Shopify).
