At this time, it’s not possible to add a phone number collection box to the pre-contact info collection form. Users in the U.S and Canada are able to request contact numbers in this form, as the bar that asks for an email address also states that a phone number can be provided, but for merchants in other regions, the pre-contact form only requests a contact email address.
We know that being able to request a number in other regions would be valuable, so I’ve gone ahead and put in a feature request on your behalf in relation to this post. If you could, it would be helpful if you could provide some context around why you’d like to collect a contact number here in this thread, that way our developers have more context around why such a feature is desired!

in our country pakistan and other asian countries people normaly not open emails and and reply that way we need contact details to reach out the customers!
shopify need to implement this feature on this app because its really needed!

I have a Shopify store in the U.S that needs a phone number field added to the same Shopify Inbox App form. How can this be done?

To be clear, you cannot add a specific bar to your pre-contact form asking for a phone number currently. If a store located in the U.S or Canada is using Shopify Inbox, the pre-contact form includes a bar where a user can submit an email address OR a phone number to the business. This means that your pre-contact form already includes this request for a phone number, but it’s the choice of the customer to decide if they wish to provide it or not.
Our developers are aware that folks would like to be able to add specific pre-contact form boxes to collect specific info from their customers. Though I don’t have a timeline on when such functionality may be made available, you can trust that our developers are aware of the value case this functionality would bring.
when will this be done? It would be handy to be able to add phone number field.
