I want to create a special promo of a product, but cannot hide it from the online store

Hi Guys, I have a an active product I want to offer at $50 only for people who attends our workshop. With a QR they can land to a page of our website where they can see the product at this special price.

But, how can I hide it from the rest of the people that land on the website ? Is there any way I can do this?

You can remove it from collections, and also prevent it from showing in search results. That way the only way someone can enter that product page is either with the qr code or by knowing it’s url.

Thanks for your reply, but IDK why it goes to some automated collections. Also, if I google the product I can find it in the discounted price… how can I avoid this? Thanks!

I think you can remove it from showing in google. Regarding with the collections, you can check which collections this product is in and remove it .

Hi @antonelabk If using customer accounts and they have to be logged in this can be done with common membership theme-customizations using customer tags.

If it’s for any anonymous visitor with the url, it’s simpler to use an app like locksmith for access control / content gating.

If you need this theme-customization or app setup/consulting then contact me by my email for services.

ALWAYS please provide context, examples: store url, theme name, post url(s) , or any further detail in ALL correspondence.

And do you know how to remove it from showing in Google? I could hide it from online store search but not from Google, thanks!

Hi @antonelabk ,

To hide your product from Shopify search and Google, you can use the seo.hidden metafield. Additionally, make sure to manually hide the product from any collections where it might appear.

Thanks! Yes I have tried with the seo.hidden option and put 1 on the metafield, but it does not work  , the product keeps appearing on google

google results do not update instantly, the search engine needs to recrawl the site on it’s own or you need to use their webmaster tools to request one.

Either way this part is only for crawlers, and does not prevent people from being able to find publicly rendered content.

Despite the fact it says that is temporarily removed, it keeps appearing
