I was approved for shopify payments and then no longer approved after using it for 3 years, why?

I am a merchant in the U.S. I was approved for shopify payments and capital back in 2018 or 19 and then no longer approved after using it for 3 years, why? Now, I’d like to use it so that my customers can checkout on instagram and I’ve contacted customer service about it several times over about 6 months and they’ve all said that someone will contact me and no one ever did. Did this happen to anyone else, and if so, why is it happening? I didn’t have a high rate of chargebacks or anything? Did anyone have any good results with another provider maybe? I’ve seen that many have transferred over to Square, if so, can you please share your experience with them?

Thanks Peter, I did several times and none of the reps can give me a straight answer and then say that someone from Shopify will contact me and they never do. I first started asking back in 2020 when it happened all of a sudden. I paid back 3 shopify capital loans and everything was trending upwards in terms of payments and then “boom” out of nowhere they took both away and no one is sure why.

Yes, I still have access thankfully but in reading around this forum I’m thinking maybe I need to make sure I have something else in place.

I understand that and it makes perfect sense but nothing changed in that time, not even my website! If anything, we were doing better!

I kept on contacting support and finally after 3 years, I have shopify payments back! It was not implemented right away because it took 3-4 days to be verified and unfortunately, I had to keep contacting customer service about that too! Luckily a representative named Rachel helped me and is still helping me and I am so grateful!

Unfortunately, there are no updates regarding capital though! Apparently, 3 years ago the reviews were done manually but now that I’ve fixed the wording on my website, there are no longer being done manually but by computer? I’ve asked and asked for a manual review of my account to see if it can be reinstated but, no luck! Apparently, capital said they tried to email me but, unfortunately I never received the email in my inbox! Fingers crossed please that now I can also get Shopify capital back as well! I’m so happy to be using the payments again.
