I’m trying to edit, what should be something very simple, on my header “my store”. However every video I watch everyone seems to have this panel on the right side that I do not have. I’ve seen many post about how to get it back and that shopify may have removed this feature. I need help. So far Shopify has what might be the worst UX/UI for building a website I have ever
Topic summary
Main issue: A merchant cannot find the editing sidebar while trying to change the header in the Shopify theme editor and fears the feature was removed. They note videos show a right-side panel they don’t have and express frustration with the UI.
Latest update/clarification: A responder explains the Theme Editor (“Customize”) adapts to screen size. On smaller screens or laptops, the sidebar that appears on the right in some videos may instead appear on the left.
Evidence: A screenshot is provided showing the sidebar placement.
Implications: The sidebar likely isn’t missing—its position is responsive and may differ from tutorials. Checking the left side of the editor or adjusting window size may reveal it.
Status: No confirmation from the original poster. The discussion suggests a UI placement explanation rather than a removed feature; resolution unconfirmed.
