We need to integrate Blackhorse Financing (automotive financing gateway used with many large brands e.g. Tesla), a common payment provider in the world of automotive purchasing. They have both an API where we can build our own solution on-site, plus an existing hosted solution which involves completing the purchase on their hosted page, and then redirecting back.
So far the two methods we have found to integrate this into Shopify are:
- Hosted Payments SDK, deprecated this year and not accepting new requests. Existing forum posts like this one exist for this, but not much use since we can’t sign up.
- Shopify Payments API, in beta and targeting launch in March 2022.
Obviously 1. is a non-starter. For 2., there seem to be requirements that scare us off it a little bit - e.g. for public listing technical requirements of 99.95% guaranteed uptime, requirement to be in use on 50 stores + $1million revenue processed before listing the app, etc. I understand that perhaps the requirements for private listing are less stringent (we’d only be using it on one store so that’s fine), but that still points towards it being quite a colossal job.
So my questions are:

Will the Shopify Payments API integration as big of an undertaking as it seems?

If not Payments, what other options do we have?
