Internal server error using Shopify CLI

Topic summary

Issue: After approving an app installation, a GraphQL API error appears immediately: “Internal error. Looks like something went wrong on our end.” It includes a Request ID (ad7d47b0-6172-46c3-a1f8-7997d80eea21) and shows undefined Location/Path.

Expected vs actual: Instead of redirecting to the billing page (subscription flow), the app installs but performs none of its intended post-install actions.

Context: The user suspects a server-side problem rather than an issue with their implementation. GraphQL is Shopify’s API query language; an “internal error” suggests an issue on the platform side, and the Request ID is meant for support.

Response: A moderator apologized for the delayed reply and asked the user to re-submit the question with up-to-date details if the problem persists.

Status: No troubleshooting steps or fixes were provided. The thread has no resolution, and next action is for the user to post a fresh, detailed report if still affected.

The error occurs the second I approve the installation of the app.

Usually it would redirect me to the billing page…

Instead it installs the app, but doesn’t do anything the app was suppose to do.

I don’t believe it’s something I’ve done that led to this error.

I need help…

Hey Adi733,

I want to apologize for not getting back to you about this in a timely manner.

If this problem is still relevant to you, can I ask that you submit this question again? (with information about your current situation)

Sincerely,
J-ROM
