International Selling when you don't want to use markets

I am not sure I need markets. I am a one-woman “show” my “warehouse” is my guestroom. I am a maker of cross stitch patterns, with selling some threads and fabric to go with some of the patterns. I have only my main website (https://thewishingthorn.com/) and my Etsy shop. I am US based. I used to direct all my international customers to Etsy because it was so easy for international shipping. Everything was taken care of for both, buyer and seller. To have everything under one “roof” I created 4 shipping profiles for the countries I sell to the most outside the USA. This was before markets. It worked well, customers knew they still have fees to pay to receive the package. Now Shopify starts with markets and all my international shipping profiles are “inactive” I don’t want to use markets. Is this not an option to ship international without and of the silly market stuff ? It seems to just want to get all sorts of extra fees.

TIA,

Birgit

Within each Market you can specify not to collect duties and taxes at checkout. Customers will just see a sub total, shipping and grand total as before.

Hope this helps

Simon

It does, but Shopify would still want extra fees for using this correct?

Yes, there would be an additional 2% currency conversion fee.
