Is editing the amount on hand the right way to manage inventory?

I check the variants in my inventory and some of them have 0 availability. What I have been doing is editing the amount on hand, is this the correct procedure to add the amount into my inventory

It depends on the case. In most cases, I would recommend editing the “Available” column to avoid confusion. For example, if “Unavailable” has 17 and “Available” has 0, the “On Hand” is 17. If the “On Hand” is updated to quantity 0, “Available” will become -17.
