Is Mappy the best store locator map app?

Topic summary

MAPPY is reviewed as a solid, lightweight store locator for Shopify with a clean UI, quick setup, and smooth integration with most themes, including Shopify 2.0. It covers core locator needs but has a streamlined feature set; apps like Storemapper or Stockist may better suit advanced filtering, more flexible bulk import, or deeper customization.

A contrasting viewpoint argues that asking for the “best” app is unhelpful without defined business requirements, noting that the ideal solution depends on specific needs and, in some cases, custom development.

The original poster refined requirements:

  • No API key or Google account needed
  • Up to 300 locations
  • CSV bulk import (comma-separated values)
  • “Store near me” geolocation function

Current state: No confirmation yet on whether MAPPY meets these exact criteria. One participant offered to provide detailed comparisons or alternatives based on the listed needs. The discussion remains open with action items to match the requirements to specific app capabilities.

I’ve reviewed MAPPY for a few Shopify stores, and it’s a solid option especially for merchants looking for a clean interface and quick setup. The app is lightweight, easy to customize, and integrates smoothly with most themes, including the newer Shopify 2.0 ones.

That said, its feature set is fairly streamlined. It handles basic store locator functionality well, but more advanced needs—such as filtering, bulk import flexibility, or deep customization are handled better by apps like Storemapper or Stockist.

Overall, MAPPY works well for simple, reliable store locator requirements. Happy to share comparisons or recommend alternatives based on what features matter most for your store.

“best” doesn’t mean anything on a platform with 5 million merchants all with different needs.
May as well just google “best app” for all that vagueness means and the outcomes that generates.

The best app is always the one custom made for the purpose.
Anything else trying to shortlist x v y apps requires outlining the actual business requirements upfront or it’s just asking for bot responses telling you what you want to hear.

Thanks so much for your input!

Thanks Paul. I agree, using the term"best" is pretty broad and non specific.

In my previous posts I had mentioned that I had this criteria:
No API key or Google account needed.
Up to 300 locations
CVS bulk import
Store by me function.
