I am new to Shopify and I really do not understand what it is for. My company already sells through one online distributor that is essentially a wholesaler: they take a cut of whatever we sell, but they do a good job of curating projects sold there and actively promoting their site and from time to time our products as well. I consider them an active site (Some might call this wholesale sales). On the other hand, our website is a purely passive site; we sell from there, but the only promotion of our site is what we generate (Some might call this retail sales). Where is Shopify on this continuum between active and passive?
Hi @web1305shop
Shopify is just a platform to connect world to what to want to sale to them. It’s always doesn’t work with wholesaler because you don’t own any personal identity to the world but if you opt for Shopify and try to market on your own and I wish it work then you’ll understand the power of your brand.
Wholesaler wants you but at some point they start their own same products then you’ll find yourself in the blank space.
So, my point is not to compare anything but to share mine view.
Thanks
