Is Shopventory necessary for managing our online store?

Hi there,I work for a small business that is brick and mortar and during the pandemic we were able to hire a marketing person to help us get an online store up and running. He had us get shopify and shopventory and we run a square system for our POS. We ended up losing this marketing person and running into some issues. We have been trying to run and figure out this whole thing on our own with two people that are not very tech savvy. We are wondering if we can drop shoventory and still run the website and store without the use of Shopventory. We seldom use shopventory but to add new products and update descriptions for the website. Can we drop Shopventory and update website descriptions, add new products and track inventory with just our Shopify and Square? Saving any little bit of money helps and it seems that Shopventory may not be what we need but we are afraid of losing any progress or having to start from scratch if we drop Shopventory. Will it be an easy transition? Any little bit helps.

I believe Square POS does not integrate with Shopify directly, (Shopify has its own Shopify POS). However, you can integrate Shopventory with Square, as well you can integrate Shopify store with Shopventory. In your case, it seems you need Shopventory (or similar 3rd-party inventory management) to keep using Square POS with Shopify.
