I own a t-shirt shop and use the Minimal theme. I have multiple variants for each of the t-shirts on my shop and each variant has its own product image showing the color of the tee. Currently, when a customer clicks on one of the product images, the main picture changes to that image (which is perfect!) but the variant does NOT change in the variant drop-down menu. Is there a way to get the variant to change in the drop-down menu when the related picture is chosen? I’ve had several customers receive the wrong t-shirt color because they clicked on the picture to choose their color instead of picking it from the drop-down.
Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!
I understand you’re looking to allow customers to choose their variants by selecting the image. Since you’re using the Minimal theme, you can do this by following our tutorial - Select variants by clicking their images. It’s important to note that this tutorial is for vintage themes and does not apply to Online store 2.0. If you’re not sure which architecture your theme uses, we’ve got a guide to help you determine your theme architecture version.
If you’re using a vintage theme and you need help with implementing the tutorial, then this is something that our Theme Support team can help you with. If your store is subscribed to a plan, you’re eligible to use the complimentary design time included with your subscription on this modification. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit the Shopify Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request.
I’ve also took the opportunity to look over your shop and I think it looks amazing! There isn’t much that I can share for feedback; however, do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
