Hello, I am very new to the Shopify platform. I currently have a small Classified Ads for cars website built on the Wordpress platform which was recently infected with malware. I want to move everything over to Shopify but am trying to figure out how to make it function properly or similar to what I currently have built.
Currently (on my Wordpress site), a user picks 1 of 3 plans. Next, they go through the checkout process and depending on which plan they choose, they get taken to a page with a form on it to build their ad with text fields and a photo upload section (the photos section automatically resizes photos, which is important). After they click ‘submit’ on the form their ad information automatically creates their “listing”, where I go in Admin panel and approve. The user can login to their account to change price, but they usually just email to do that.
I am wondering how to create similar functionality in Shopify. I know it can be done, I just don’t know my way around Shopify that well yet. I currently have a page built that shows the 3 plans a user can choose to purchase. That is the simple part. After 1 of these plans gets added to cart and they go through the checkout process, how do I have the customer fill out a form to upload their info and photos? (there are 2 different forms, depending on plan choice…and auto resizing of photos is very important) Should I have a link in an email to a form? Also, when the customer does fill out the form and click ‘submit’, would all the information go to my email or should I direct it somewhere else into Shopify somehow?
Would these ads get created as Shopify products? You will not be able to purchase the car through this website. At this point, the customer’s ad will be informational. I just need a contact form on the ad page so people can directly contact the seller (my customer). I don’t mind going in and creating the ads, I am just not sure of the simplest way to get the information into Shopify.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I really like Shopify and would love to make this work. Thanks in advance …
