Topic summary

Shopify’s Translate & Adapt team is recruiting beta testers for three new features:

Key Features Being Tested:

  • Translation sync: Automatic background translation for the 2 free languages when products are added or edited, eliminating the need to manually trigger auto-translate
  • Right-to-left language support: Translation capabilities for Arabic and Hebrew (requires theme compatibility)
  • Paid auto-translation expansion: Early access to auto-translate beyond the current 2-language limit

Current Limitation & Workaround:
Multiple users reported being unable to change their initial 2 auto-translation language selections. The team acknowledges this UX issue and currently handles changes manually through direct contact. A proper solution is planned for when the multi-language expansion launches.

Interested merchants can apply through a Google Form linked in the original post. The team monitors community posts and accepts DMs for private store details.

Hi everyone, Avi from Translate & Adapt here :waving_hand:

We have a few things we’d love to get your takes on. We’re looking for stores who are interested in trying them out.

What are we testing:

Translation sync - The ability to have your translations synced for your 2 free languages.

For example: When adding a new product or edit an existing one you won’t need to go back to Translate & Adapt to hit Auto-translate button, it’ll just happen in the background.

Translating Right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew - please be aware that your theme should support Right-to-left for the result to look as someone who reads Right-to-left would expect

Additional auto-translations - Early access to test the ability to auto-translate (paid) beyond the 2 free languages currently offered.

If you want to test these in the coming months please fill the form here

Applied! Thank you for this.

I am also curious if it is possible to reset your original auto translation choices?

We made a mistake in our initial selection and didnt actually want those two languages selected for auto translation. We would love to reset and setup different default auto translations

Hello Avi,

I’ve registered already, and I can’t wait to have access to it.

Thanks!

Today it requires talking to us which isn’t ideal. But once we will launch the ability to go beyond 2 languages we’ll fix that UX as well.

What is the best way to reach you to do that?

You can post in the community, we always look at posts here and trying to step in and help folks. Or DM my user if you share anything private

Thanks. I will send a DM.

Hi @shopifyavi Same probleme here! I use Translate & Adapt and my predecessor spoke Italian but not Catalan, and I speak the opposite. So he set Catalan and English as the automatic translation languages. So the two-language limit has been reached. I can’t change Catalan to Italian  Could your team make this change for me? It would save an enormous amount of time when it comes to integrating Italian :folded_hands:

Hi! DM me with the store details pls :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for your reply @shopifyavi . How can I send a DM? I can’t find the way

Applied for Early access to test the ability to auto-translate (paid) beyond the 2 free languages currently offered. Hope we are still on time to join.
