Left / Right padding for specific custom content section

I’m trying to give certain “custom content” sections (each containing 3 or 4 images, using 1/3 or 1/4 layout) a more narrow padding on the left and right. Currently, the entire main page has a 30px padding on the left and right. I’d like to give give specific sections a 60px or 70px padding on both sides to break things up.

I know the section name(s), and have tried placing versions of the following code at the bottom of my theme.css file, but nothing is working.

padding-left: 60px !important;
padding-right: 60px !important;
}

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ZestardTech. Thanks so much for the reply. This current design is not yet live, as I need to work out some issues first, but here is a link to the current preview:

The sections I’m hoping to modify are the “sub sections” that contain 3 or 4 square images beneath the various wide banner images. I just need to add some additional padding or margins on the left/right, so they are roughly 30px further in. (Only on those specific sections, not the entire page).
