I was recently looking into how big brands like Fashion Nova handle influencer marketing, and honestly, their approach surprised me.
They don’t even bother with tracking links. Instead, influencers just post a simple caption, tag the brand, drop a hashtag, and sometimes even add the emoji with the exact product name. No messy links, no UTM codes, just pure branding.
On one hand, it makes their content feel a lot more natural and authentic. People see the product, remember it, and then search for it later. And with thousands of influencers posting daily, Fashion Nova can afford to play the branding game at scale.
But for smaller stores, tracking is everything. I usually set affiliates up with custom links or discount codes so I can actually see who’s driving sales. Tools like UpPromote, BixGrow, or GoAffPro make this easy, but I know not everyone follows the same approach.
So I’m curious, how do you handle influencer tracking in your store? Do you prefer links, discount codes, or do you also lean toward the branding-first method?
