Load to Cart from a Draft Order

It’s clear that other Shopify users are frustrated over losing “save cart” to the new “draft order” feature. We have had Shopify PRO for a while, and I am not seeing any draft order option, despite the Shopify help team saying the PRO subscription still has that option. Whatever…

My current issue however, is that I am trying to ring up a “draft order” and when I go to hit “load to cart” to try and edit order/check out my customer, it says, “all items must be removed from the cart in order to edit or checkout a draft order.” WTF, so now I guess I will write down everything in the cart, re-type it in as a new order, and make the same edits I had already done in the first draft!!?? All while one of my best customers is waiting?! This is embarrassing. Before, I would have been able to load to cart, make the necessary edits, and check out from there.

Am I missing something…?

It doesn’t do that for us on Shopify Pro. This is a bug, not a
poorly-conceived feature.

I was testing this feature yesterday and it worked ok. When loading to cart I was able to edit the order. Actually I found out I HAD TO edit the order so I could save it again as a draft. It seems not to be possible to load it and then save it again right away which is weird. So I have to edit something and then reverse the edit to be able to save it.

I however would like to see the price of the order in the list of draft orders. Right now I only see draft number and then a list of items in the order. Seeing the price there would be useful for me.

Shopify POS ends up with a lot of ‘features’ that you need to actually cancel out and go right back in to save it, or you hit the trash can, then cancel that and go back in to save or edit it. It’s obvious none of this is tested by real users using the system and they have some devs sitting there dreaming up ways to mess up checking out clients in an efficient manner. Try the cancel or trash, then going back in - works often for us in other ways we are forced to use this system.
