Local carrier not included - looking for a solution to provide proper tracking

We are a Swiss shopify shop and use the Swiss Post as our delivery company. Unfortunately the largest logistics provider in Switzerland is not in the list of shopify shipping carriers.

When we scan our packages we get the shipping carrier “other” and need to unfortunately add the link manually. This takes a lot of time and is quite expensive for us.

I have a few solutions but I am not sure if they are feasible:

  1. Can I add a new carrier manually? Ideally it would be our default pick. My google results say it is not possible.

  2. Can we add a tracking link for the option “Other” shipping carrier so that it is always shown when this option gets picked during fulfillment?

  3. Is it possible to change the content in the “order status page”? We thought about generating a link that includes our tracking number and implement it on the site.
