though it’s not the main use case of the app, however, using gameball you can do this.
in particular using automation campaigns.
let me know if you need more help.
I took a look at it. It seems like its a reward program. How do you see it working for the situation I Have?
How can you use it to add a tag to a customer account, if a customer purchases a specific product.
The way I am using it, is that I have certain pages of content locked down with another app.
You have to have a certain tag on your customer account to access that content.
But right now the process is manual, so if a customer purchases the membership they have to wait.
If it would add the tag automatically, it would give the customer instant access.
yes it will get the job done.
here’s how:
hope that helps
let me know if you have any further questions
@AppleSauce999 you can use Order Automator to do things like this.
For tagging the customer you’d create a Customer Tag Rule, for example, if customer purchases a product with SKU ABC123, then add tag Purchased ABC123 to the customer.
You can also do things like tag orders based on those conditions, notify staff, and tag orders and customers old orders.
The app is customizable, so if you don’t find the exact functionality you’re looking for, you can reach out to app support to request the change.
I disagree with this answer. Your solution applies the tag for any purchase, not a specific purchase.
I really appreciate this reply, but its similar to many solutions, it skips many of the steps in the beginning.
I added the workflow app.
I clicked the black button that says “Create Workflow”
It brings me to a button that says “Select a Trigger”
It now opens a window that says “Select a Trigger”
I’m guessing I select “Flow”
but I’m not sure what to do from there.
You are surely an expert at this. You have to remember that people that are asking questions probably have never used Flow before.
Again I do appreciate your reply and if this can solve it, it would be fantastic.
I have been going back and forth with them for 4 days. They are really bad at giving directions.
They leave out tons of steps and when you ask about the steps they missed they say “Oh yeah missed that.”
A cake will not be a cake, if you skip 4 of the steps.
The instructions are useless if they are not accurate.
Where are you getting the “product ID” for the Check if?
Are you sure you are talking to Order Automator? support@orderautomator.com?
It sounds like you are referencing a different app, because there are only a couple simple steps, not a ton of steps, and the wording doesn’t sound at all like Order Automator support. I’ve actually never heard anyone say “they’re really bad at giving directions”.
When you ask how to do something with Order Automator support, you get detailed instructions + screenshots, sometimes a full guide depending on the request, and support available to create the rules for you.
Assuming you’re talking about a different app, so I’ll share the steps to do this with Order Automator:
Go to Auto Tag page and select the Tag Customers tab
Create the rule you want and click the Activate tag rule button
For creating the rule, just tell the app what you want to do, for example “product sku is equal to ABC123, then add tag ABC123”
Feel free to PM me if these steps are unclear to you.
I apologize someone earlier suggest “Gameball” and I was referring to gameball.
I created a work flow and I used “Vender Name” as a trigger and assigned the product a Unique vendor name. I purchased the product on my own account using a code to discount the order to 0.00, but the tag was not added.
Ray I got it to work. I’ll try to write out all the steps that a newbie would need to do this. The final mistake I made was, when you enter a Tag as the last step, you have to hit “return” before you save it. I am noticing this with a lot of situations where you need to enter a unique value into a field. I entered the tag and hit save, but it saved a blank field. I went back in and entered the tag and now it works. Great solution to a problem without using an app.
so sad it didn’t work for you.
did you add the filter after you selected the event? the place order event I mean.
You are providing a solution for a different problem.
