Looking for an app to track inventory and create product sets?

Topic summary

A merchant seeks a Shopify app to create product bundles/sets with three specific requirements: inventory tracking for individual components, customizable sets with color selections (e.g., A+A+B+C format), and the ability to display sets as standalone products.

Solutions offered:

  • BundleSync/Bundleup: Supports color-based options where customers select variations (e.g., Pants Color + Shirt Color). The app tracks component inventory, shows bundles as out-of-stock when components deplete, and can unbundle orders post-purchase for normal fulfillment.

  • Simple Bundles: Allows set creation with dropdown or swatch selections, tracks individual item inventory to determine bundle availability, and supports selling items both individually and as bundles.

  • JTDL Bundles & Discounts: Offers “Build Your Own Bundles” and quantity breaks, enabling mix-and-match customization with product variants (including color options). Visual examples show flexible bundle configurations for various product categories.

Multiple vendors provided setup guides and offered direct support. The discussion remains open with no confirmed solution selected by the original poster.

We are looking for an app for a set product (bundle product).

  1. Inventory of products included in the set should be tracked.

  2. Ability to create sets like A(color selection)+A(color selection)+B+C

  3. Set products can be displayed as individual products.

Is there an application that meets the above requirements?

I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Hi

A common way our users set up these type of bundles is to make an option represent the color and then you bundle up all the variation option with the components.

For example:

Option 1 - Pants Color

Option 2 - Shirt Color

When both options are selected the product that is added to checkout will be a virtual product that contains Pants Red + Shirt Blue + A + B. The buyer doesn’t see all the components in cart but rather just one product.

Our bundle app will let you bundle up the SKUs and we then update their inventory based on the component stock level. So in above example if stock of a component goes to zero the bundle will show as out of stock.

We also have the additional option of unbundling orders made for a bundled product into the component SKUs post purchase. This way the order lines are only for components and can be fulfilled as per normal. This also keeps your inventory correct.

Hi @RW7 , in case you’re still looking for a solution, you can create sets with dropdown or swatch selections using Simple Bundles. The inventory for each individual item is also tracked which also determines the quantity of the bundle. These items can be sold individual or exclusively as a set/bundle. Hope this helps!

You can try our app: https://apps.shopify.com/jtdl-bundles-discounts
It offers features like Build Your Own Bundles and Quantity Breaks, allowing your customers to mix and match products to create custom sets—perfect for meal deals, beauty kits, outfit bundles, and more.
