Merchant is a fraud

Hello Shopify,

I placed an order with this [REDACTED] - a merchant on your app - on November 9, 2021, and I have yet to receive my order or a refund. I have been going back-and-forth with the merchant for nearly 2 years, I have even made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of New York, but they dropped the case because they could not get a hold of this merchant. The merchants phone number has been out of service this entire time, and he continues deny my refund. I attempted to get the charge bank via by bank but they said too much time had passed. The merchant continued to tell me for more than a year that my order was “on the way,” and that he would refund me if I didn’t get them. It’s all a scam.

I want my $180 refunded immediately and I’m at a loss for how to proceed. I have contacted the merchant through their social media channels and via email, and he continues to lie to me about my order. In the midst of all of this, I found that there are many of us who have purchased something from this merchant, and never received our orders, and there are likely way more!

I highly suggest you CEASE doing business with this merchant immediately while you investigate what’s going on here.

And I want my money back. I will take this further.

Hi @nicolelarae

Thank you for reaching out to share your experience with this merchant. While I am not able to confirm if a merchant is hosted using our platform, our support takes reports of this nature very seriously.

If you haven’t yet, I recommend reporting this store through our acceptable use policy page: Report an Issue with a Merchant. If this merchant is hosted on our platform our support team will be happy to investigate this further.

It’s important to note that Shopify is a software platform that many merchants use to host their online store. As such, our support team is not able to review or manage orders on a merchant’s behalf. Our support also will not be able to mediate your order dispute or provide a refund. If you feel that you need to take further action or initiate a legal process, that is within your right to do so.
