Anyone else dealing with this?
Meta For Business began sending me this email several days ago, and it is resent every 12 hours. It’s the same two orders every time. The email states they’ve canceled the orders and refunded the customers because the orders didn’t ship on time.
Both orders are from February, but it doesn’t include any identifying information (Shopify order # or customer name). I’ve dug in to look at all orders for within a few days of their stated dates that included the items in the email: One item is a preorder that will ship in August and we had several orders in that time period for it, so I can’t definitively tell which order they’re referencing. The other order actually shipped within 1 day of being placed, and was delivered 2 days after that.
February was prior to the new Meta checkout, so they shouldn’t be screwing with our orders at all. I did set up the new checkout, only to realize that it doesn’t support preorders, so I turned it off within days of setting it up.
Support at Meta only kept telling me I ought to set up their checkout. Seriously? With it turned off, you’re messing with my business - Why in the world would I turn that on?
After a maddening round of chat with Meta support, I heard nothing for four days. I added to the chat twice that I was still receiving this same email, regarding the same two orders, but received only crickets. Today, now that I have TEN copies of this email in my inbox, I got a chat update saying everything is fine on their end and I should contact Shopify. I’ll do that, but Shopify isn’t sending the emails. At the very least, Meta needs to turn the stupid things off.
Thanks for letting me vent here. Is anyone else getting these emails? Have they actually refunded the customers, and if so, did you have any luck getting either Shopify or Meta to give you the money back if you’d shipped the orders?
