Mobile Menu broke, glitching can't seem to figure it out.

Topic summary

A mobile menu displays as grey/glitched on specific pages (Virtual Realm and Ardor Archive) but functions correctly on others. The issue only occurs when those two particular category pages are clicked.

Root Cause Identified:
The non-working pages are missing a defined header section that the menu script requires to function. Working pages contain this header element, while broken pages do not.

Proposed Solutions:

  • Compare working and non-working pages side-by-side in the theme editor to identify structural differences, particularly in the header section
  • Alternatively, start with a new page and gradually add elements from the non-working page to isolate which component breaks the menu

Current Status:
One user reported the menu works on their mobile device, suggesting the issue may be device-specific or intermittent. The problem remains unresolved pending further troubleshooting by the original poster.

Hello,

When testing on mobile my menu is grey/ glitched out on the virtual realm* & ardor archive* can’t really figure out why, any input would be appreciated not really a coder but know minimal from a class 3 years ago. Image below!

(It glitches out and turns grey only when those two categories are clicked, the other work properly)

@luhlex , it seems on those pages the menu can’t be found by the script you’re using:

I think this has to do with the page setup. On the working version there is a defined header section:

On the non working version that’s missing:

Sorry if this sounds dense lol,

So what should I do to fix this? Do I need to manually add those somewhere do you mind breaking it down?

Thanks

Hi @luhlex

Did you get this issue on a special mobile device? Because I have checked on my mobile and its working well.

@luhlex , there has to be some kind of difference between the pages that work and the pages that don’t. If I were you, I would go the theme editor and open a working page. Put that on the left half of your screen. On the right half, do the same for a non working page. Compare to see if there are any differences, especially in the header section.

Alternatively, you could start over with a new page and add the elements of the non working page piece by piece. Eventually you will find the element that causes the menu not to work (if there is one).
