Multi currency checkout page

Topic summary

Multi-currency checkout is possible on Shopify through Shopify Markets and Shopify Payments.

Setup steps include:

  • Activating Shopify Markets and configuring market settings
  • Installing the Geolocation app
  • Adding a currency selector to the storefront
  • Enabling “Show prices to customers in their local currency” under Settings > Markets > Products and pricing

Key considerations:

  • Locale-aware URLs and SEO optimization are recommended
  • Country/language selectors can be added to headers or navigation
  • Secondary payout accounts in non-domestic currencies are supported

Known limitation: Shopify Markets doesn’t support market-specific discount codes (e.g., promos that work only in USD or EUR). Third-party apps like Pixoo are suggested as workarounds for creating currency-targeted discounts that apply at checkout.

  2. Click the market you want to adjust
  3. Click Products and pricing

You can consider locale-aware URLs, search engine optimization, and structured data.

You can use Shopify’s integrated currency converter.

  • You can add a secondary payout account in a non-domestic currency.

Hey @andikparlent ,
Shopify Markets now makes it possible to offer multi-currency pricing all the way through to checkout — so yes, it’s doable!

One thing to note: while Markets handles currency display and checkout pretty well, it still doesn’t let you run market-specific discount codes (e.g. a promo that works only in USD or only in EUR).

We ran into that limitation and started using Pixoo to fill that gap — it lets you create proper multi-currency, market-targeted discounts that actually apply at checkout.

Hope that helps!
